Want to get your hands dirty? This article describes the various components of the page and how to modify or use them. We will refer back to a lot of the Step-by-Step articles. For a guided approach, take a look at the Step by Step series. Upper left pictureThe upper left picture may be deleted and replaced with your own, but you will lose the black curve. We have not included the original source file for you to edit because this is an evaluation version of the template. You are welcome to purchase the full version, which is called "Primary Blue Business." Buyer's Note: When you are looking to purchase a template, you'll want to look carefully at the details to see if the artist makes it easy for you to integrate your own pictures or not. Most artists will tell you that they include a "blank" version of a graphic where you can use an image editor to insert your own images. Top menuThe top menu is FrontPage-generated and displays, in text-link format, the "top level" pages of your web site. To add more links to this area, drag pages into the top level of your navigation structure. (See Add a New Page to learn more.) Your Logo Here areaThe "your logo here" area is actually within an Include Page for easy editing. See Edit Include Pages to learn more. Buyer's Note: If you see a "your logo here" image, in most cases it is probably a graphic. Artists usually expect you to replace the graphic with your own logo graphic. You will most likely need some kind of image editing program to integrate your logo. In this example, you'll need an image editing program to put a blue background on your logo graphic. If you aren't able to do this, you'll want to look for templates that have white or black backgrounds (depending on the background color of your logo) in the logo area to make it easier on yourself. Page title areaThe page title is actually a graphic that is generated automatically by FrontPage. The text comes from the page title that is displayed in Navigation View. See Change Page Title and Buttons to learn more. Left columnThe left column can be used for subnavigation (as we've done on this page). You may also add additional information such as info boxes, graphics, or ads. Alternatively, you may delete everything in the left column and leave it blank, as we've done on the home page. Left navigation menusYou can insert as many navigation menus as you want -- see some of our tutorial pages for examples of "parent level" and "same level" link bars. See Change Page Title and Buttons, Rearrange Pages, and Add a New Page to learn more about editing link bars. Don't drag table lines! This may freeze the page and ruin the layout. Main content areaDelete existing text and insert your own! See Step-by-Step for more help. Copyright areaThe copyright area is within an Include Page for easy editing. See Edit Include Pages to learn more. |
