January 15 We get Socks. He is eight months old.
January 16 Socks digs under the fence and runs away.
January 17 We find Socks at the pound. We pay $35 to get him out.
January 20 Socks digs out under the fence again. He is not at the pound. We lose hope.
January 23 We find a "found dog" ad in the paper. Socks is back!
February 8 Socks slams his way through a board in the fence and a neighbor three doors down finds him.
April 24 Socks slips out (someone left the gate open) and the next door neighbor, five streets away walking her own dog, brings him back.
April 26 Socks digs out under the fence. Down the street, a neighbor returns from putting his own 11-year old dog to sleep and finds Socks on his doorstep. The neighbor's dog was also a blue merle Australian shepherd with two blue eyes.
September 4 Socks, tied in the patio outside, slips his collar, jumps over the fence, and runs away. We find him at the pound. We pay $50 to get him out. We find out that it will double if he is found at the pound again.
